Cali May attends an artists’ retreat at the Tawnee Mountain Ski and Golf Resort in Northern New Jersey. When she and the other attendees arrive, they find the spacious, enclosed gondolas out of order. They must ride the ordinary ski lift to the summit of the Black Diamond run to a small lodge. Cali overcomes her fear of heights with difficulty to climb aboard a chair, but is horrified to see a figure fall to earth half-way up the mountain. Is this an accident or murder? Isolated at the top of the Black Diamond run with a group of creative souls, both dead and alive, she must find a murderer before he kills again.
After being invited into the company of six award winning authors to write a novella for the Tawnee Mountain Mysteries series, I am proud to announce my contribution, Black Diamond Graves, is available for pre-order. Or, receive a free e-copy to read and review on Amazon. Check out all seven of the novellas in this series!
News Release: “In “Black Diamond Graves,” Floridian Wendy Fallon takes her main character, California “Cali” May to attend an artists’ retreat at the Tawnee Resort. Cali is horrified to see a figure fall from the Black Diamond ski lift chair in front of her as she and the other attendees ride up the mountain to a small lodge. She finds herself stranded with several creative souls both dead and alive and must uncover a murderer before she, too, becomes a target.”

I was honored to be invited to contribute to a multi-author series, Tawnee Mountain Mysteries, published by Short on Time Books. I am one of seven authors who were asked to place their main character in the same location, Northern New Jersey, in the fictional Tawnee Mountain Ski and Golf Resort. (I was born and raised in a tiny little town called Pompton Plains, NJ, and consider it my home town.)
I am still seeking First Readers. If you would like to receive free e-copies of each of my books before the official publishing date, and provide a review on Amazon, please let me know at email@example.com. You will be helping me tremendously! The more reviews an author has, the more publicity Amazon provides. In return, you will receive occasional newsletters from me with information about future books, character naming contests, book conferences I will be attending, my inspiration, and questions to readers for which you can provide feedback. And other miscellaneous info!
I deeply appreciate everyone who has already purchased and/or provided reviews. I hope my books will continue to entertain you, and you continue to provide me with feedback. ~ Wendy
Coming in April 2018 – I’m honored to be invited to participate in a multi-author series, Tawnee Mountain Mysteries, to be published by Short on Time Books April 19, 2018. Each author places their main character in the same location, Tawnee Mountain Ski and Golf Resort in Northern New Jersey.
In my book, Black Diamond Graves, Cali May attends an Artists’ Retreat at Tawnee Mountain Ski and Golf Resort in North Jersey. She’s appalled to see a figure fall from the Black Diamond ski lift as she and the other attendees ride the lift to a small lodge on the first day. She finds herself standed at the top of the mountain with several creative souls both dead and alive, and must uncover a murderer before she too becomes a target.
I’ll let you all know when it becomes available for pre-sale! ~ Wendy
Left Coast Crime 2018 in Reno, NV was so much fun! I met new readers and writers, spoke with a few of my own idols, ate great food, and learned a lot of new things in a variety of panels. There were opportunities for everyone! I participated in the New Authors’ Breakfast, and gave a one minute talk in front of everyone about Death Remembers. I also joined authors Laurie Fagen and Margaret Morse to host a table at the Saturday night Banquet (picture below). I know the three of us had a fabulous time, and hope our guests did too!
I hope to see everyone again next year in Vancouver, BC Canada!

I’ll have one minute to introduce writers and readers to my first 2 fiction books over breakfast on Friday! I doubt I’ll be eating. But I”m practicing, so cross your fingers, and I’ll let you know how it goes. ~ Wendy

Back to paper and pen: So after seven years hard labor, my Mac book finally gave up the ghost. Luckily I’d completed three manuscripts. But the fourth is only half done! I was backing up (honest!) but only once a month or so. Yesterday Tim drove me to the closest Apple store, we purchased a machine twice as fast and half the weight, and they promised to do their very best to recover my ‘stuff’ in 3 to 5 business days. “Never know with a vintage machine.” Vintage! I don’t know which is worse, being without my Mac, or waiting for the phone call to hear it’s well and truly dead!
I’m now to the point in my writing and publishing process where I need your help. I’m looking for first readers, to whom I will email a free e-copy of my first book in the series Cali May Mysteries and ask that you provide feedback. As a First Reader you can email me with any typos you find and will receive occasional news about upcoming books, character naming contests, excerpts, and the inspiration behind my writing.
My first book, Death Remembers, is now on Amazon for preordering!
However, as one of my First Readers Team, you will have the opportunity to receive free e-copies of my books before the publishing dates and provide a review. Click the following link to sign up: http://eepurl.com/dkry-r
I appreciate your support immensely!
Thank you All, ~ Wendy

Left Coast Crime, March 22-25, in Reno, NV will be my third LLC conference, and my first with at least three published credits. I’ve met so many nice people, writers and readers alike, at these conferences. Meeting established writers is like coming face to face with my favorite celebrities, and being able to swap writing and publishing stories with aspiring authors makes me feel like anything is possible. Thank you to everyone who has ever shared their own writing and publishing journey. You inspire me!
And to all the readers out there, thank you for giving me a chance. I write for you! I’ll be publishing more information about pre-ordering, and how to receive free e-copies of the first two books.
